CCTV As An Investment

When you buy CCTV you will be spending a fair deal of cash, and particularly if you intend on getting a good LG CCTV camera or another reliable brand and good make. If you spend a little more still on your LG CCTV then you can get yourself a camera that has more features such as motion sensors or that can stream footage live. This then means that the cameras will work even better and because you spent more money you will get more benefits.

That all unfortunately has the negative affect on some people of putting them off buying CCTV for their premises at all. They will have to spend money, money that they will previously have no doubt put a lot of work into earning. At the same time they will have to spend time and that will mean that they are looking around for something better for a long time – and then if they want their CCTV to be good they will have to spend even more time and money on getting it right.

The compulsion then is to put off buying CCTV and to think it a waste of money or at least something you would rather not do. However this is missing the point of CCTV which is really just like every other transaction you should be making in business – it should be an investment. The idea in other words is that by buying your CCTV and spending time and money upfront you are avoiding yourself from having to spend even more time and money later on when you have had a break in or a vandalism. If either of these events should occur then you would of course find yourself having to spend lots of money on repairing the damage, on replacing the stock or the property, and on trying to catch up with work. You’d have to spend time making statements to the police, getting contractors to fix your windows and doors, and overhauling your security. It might make work a little harder right now when you are spending some of your resources on the purchase, but later on it could save your business from going completely bust and that means it could essentially earn you millions.

So you spend a little money and time now and you save a lot of money and time in the future. And the more you spend on your CCTV system – if you should buy a nice LG CCTV system for instance – then the more likely you will be able to rest assured that your property is safe and looked after. This is because a more expensive system will have more features that will make it more likely to prevent a break in. In other words an LG CCTV that is also an IP CCTV and with video analysis will probably prevent more crimes against your company than a cheap analogue CCTV camera and at a higher level. Either will save you some money then, but the more you spend the more theoretical money you will save.

How CCTV Affects Your Staff

When you get some new IP CCTV cameras and put them all to work around the office or the shop floor, the general idea is that you will be stopping trespassers and burglars and thereby helping to protect your belongings and your finances. However this is far from all that CCTV can accomplish, and if you understand CCTV properly then you will realize that there are in fact many things it can do to help your business. One way in which it can help your company is through the way it can help your staff to work better, and it can achieve this in a few ways too.

Firstly, your CCTV will help your staff to work better and to remember themselves when they go about work. This is simply because having a camera on the premises changes the way someone behaves. They know that you aren’t necessarily watching them, but if there’s a camera there and they know it is then there is a possibility that at some point someone could see what was on the camera and that means that they need to be working their best at all times – or at the very least not obviously slacking.

This also of course prevents any blatant violations – and while your CCTV will mostly be designed in order to prevent theft from outside of your organization, you do need to be aware of the threat poised by staff who can either steel from the company directly out of the cash register, or who can steel information or even time. Using CCTV you will find that you are less likely to have people lying on their time clock and if there’s any disagreement you can check it and make sure.

You can also use the CCTV of course to watch in a more laid back manner as a way to see what your operation looks like from the customer’s point of view, or just how it runs in your absence. By watching on as a third party rather than being there you can get a more genuine concept of what life in your office is like and that in turn means that you can find ways to improve the business and iron out any little problems or niggles.

The CCTV is not just something that will help you to make your staff work better though, it is also something that will help to protect them. In the case that you should accuse a member of staff of something like theft, then they can in these instances use the CCTV to prove themselves innocent. Likewise they can use it to prove themselves innocent against accusations from customers or even other members of staff. If a customer or client has a gripe with your business and is threatening to sue your member of staff, or wants you to reprimand them, then you can play back the footage to see if they are being entirely truthful or perhaps trying to get a discount on your service.

Your CCTV also means that your customers and clients are less likely to get angry, and there will be less aggression between colleagues. In other words the CCTV helps to keep your staff safe and it calms people down when they see the signage.
